¡Espero que les haya dado tiempo de terminar los nueve bloques! Ahora es tiempo de cortar el «sashing», esto es las tiras y cuadritos que van a separar los bloques. Y por supuesto armar el centro del quilt.
Hope it was enough time to finish the blocks! Now it time to cut the sashing and corner stones. And, of course, put the center of our quilt together.
Necesitan cortar:
16 [ ] de 2″ café claro
24 rectángulos de 2″ x 4 ½» aqua medio
Need to cut:
16 light brown 2″ squares
24 medium teal 2″ x 4 ½» rectangles
Ahora vamos a armar, formando tiras. Las primeras van a constar de cuatro cuadritos café claro y tres rectángulos aqua. De estas unidades vamos a necesitar cuatro.
Luego vamos a armar otro juego de tiras formadas por cuatro rectángulos aqua y tres bloques. De estas unidades deberían salirnos tres. A la hora de formar estas unidades, de bloques y rectángulos, y si como yo tienen tres tipos de bloques, deben tener cuidado de que no les vayan a quedar en el mismo orden pues esto haría que queden a la par en el quilt terminado.
Now we will put it together in rows. The first set will be four light brown squares and three teal rectangles. You need four of this units.
The second set will be four teal rectangles and three blocks. You need three units. Be careful not to set the blocks in the same order or they will be next to each other when the quilt is finished.
Las costuras las vamos a majar siempre hacia los rectángulos aqua, para que cuando se unan las tiras, sea más fácil calzar las intersecciones.
Unir las tiras formando el centro del quilt. Abrir las intersecciones como hicimos con los centros de los bloques. Debe quedarles algo como así por el frente:
Press the seams towards the teal, so it will be easier to match the intersections later on.
Sew together the strips to make the center of the quilt. Open the intersections as we did with the blocks. It should look something like this, from the front:
